The bawdy boudoir: AN EROTICA WRITER’S salon

Join DeLora & Kim in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico

August 11 - 16, 2019

Good erotica is all about the senses. Come explore yours in one of the world’s most sensual cities. From the sumptuously colored houses to the sounds of church bells and mariachis from the depths of flavors in the fresh foods to the riot of color in the markets, allow your experiences to enhance your writing. Begin each day with rooftop yoga feeling the morning sun and light breeze. Then, enjoy breakfast on the hotel’s outdoor patio followed by a morning writing session. Wander this gorgeous UNESCO World Heritage city during the day before returning to classy Casa de la Noche, a post-WWII bordello, for our evening salons.

DeLora Frederickson: DeLora first stumbled upon yoga 20 years ago at a park in Austin and she’s been practicing ever since. She’s a certified yoga therapist with extensive knowledge of anatomy and physiology. Her classes are best described as a gentle pairing of breathing with movement. She now lives and teaches in San Miguel de Allende.

Kim Curtis: When Kim was 10, her parents gave her a sewing machine for Christmas. She exchanged it for a typewriter. Since then, she's earned a living through words. She spent more than 12 years as a journalist for The Associated Press. Her forthcoming memoir is "Hit: Blue Collars, Bars and Bad Boys.”

In our five-day workshop, you will experience a welcome dinner and reception, daily healthy-start breakfasts, one-hour of daily yoga, 90-minute daily writing sessions, 90-minute nightly salons, rooftop full moon yoga, a special two-hour walking tour of the murals in the Arts District, and a sensual cooking class followed by a three-course dinner with David Jahnke.

This is also an invitation to experience the magic of San Miguel de Allende, the most artistic city in Mexico, recently named by Conde Nast “2018 Best City in the World” for a second year running. Participants are encouraged to book a few extra days to walk romantic stone walkways and cobblestoned streets, to explore the history and culture of old Mexico, and to savor fine international dining and local Mexican favorites.

Be sure to visit the unique Fabrica Aurora complex of art galleries, see other galleries, visit a nearby archeological site or explore more of the many possibilities in the area, either before or after the workshop. Check with Casa de la Noche for availability.
